New Background

I've been playing with my background. I needed something more festive. Now that I have figured the background thing out I will have to work on my header. But I am tired and I haven't even started wrapping presents.

Can't believe another year is almost up. See you all in the new year!!

Why don't I have a card made?

Well, it is this simple. I have been doing year end at work and it seems like I have been doing year end forever. I have managed to get most of what I need to do done so that we can move on into a new fiscal year. I swear it never ends.

Oh and I almost forgot, I have 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch envelopes for sale. $16.80(gst and pst included in price) for a bundle of 100. That is just 17 cents an envelope. I will also be doing custom paper ordering for those of you looking for specific paper.

Decky's Card for the Prairie Fairie

My middle son likes creating cards. Some of the things he would like to do are quite difficult, so he enlists the help of an adult (usually me but sometimes the grandmas) This time he wanted to make a card about his new puppy Percy. He colored his image to match Percy. He did a pretty good job considering he is 6. He liked the polka dot punch for his border and the puppy paws. NO FLOWERS, he said, so no flowers. He did want to make corner embellishments with the Cuttlebug. I think that the boys would put all my paper through the CB. Last but not least he wanted the card to say good dog but he can't spell. Decky is entering this in the Prairie Fairie Fun Friday also entering this in the Kona Kid Krafter's any thing goes challenge.

Summer Memories

I made this card last night. I couldn't sleep. I had a wicked headache and some little critters had invaded my bed. I am going to enter it in the Paper Romance Card Challenge to add a metal embellishment, Prairie Fairy Fun Friday Challenge using Punches, Pixie Dust and Wild Flower Wednesday - Polka Dots and the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge of Blue and Cream. On my card, I used the brushed metal corners, polka dotted blue and cream ribbon, punched flowers and border. The image is from the Prairie Fairie. It reminded me of picture of me and my brother. I wanted the card to have a vintage feel. The cream colored paper has a sparkly sheen to it that doesn't translate that well in the photo. Hope you enjoy my creation

Another Day another dollar... I mean card.

I finally did it. I met a deadline for a card. I really like the monochromatic look of this card. I envy you ladies who can create cards on a whim. I feel like this one little card took more planning then my own wedding. That is why I am entering it in a few challenges. The first Simon Says Challenge: Simon Says...SING IT BABY!!!!
My song comes from the movie Cinderella (the Disney one - can I even say that??) The song A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes. I am also entering this card in the Creative Inspirations  challenge #72 recipe of 5 flowers, 3 papers, one ribbon, Polly Craft Monday Challenge for their Princess Card, and Prairie Fairy's Circle Frame Challenge.

A dream is a wish your heart makes...

If it ain't broke don't fix it....

I have been struggling with designing my own background for my blog, and I have come to realize that somethings are better left alone. Once upon a time I had a blog and was able to make simple changes to it and it was easy. Now it has to be difficult. I can't say that what I have is exactly what I wanted. The title isn't centered and I don't like how my picture repeats itself but I am not a computer programmer.

In case you are wondering the photo/background image, is the river outside my back door. Some of you may recognize it. It was a hazy day out, I think there had been some ditch burning. I really like the muted orange of the sunset.

I don't have any pictures of myself, as I am usually the one behind the camera and the most recent ones taken of me are my friends and I in Key West. We have decided what happens in Key West stays in Key West. So I posted one of the few pictures that I have of grandma, great grandma and myself, mom is in there too. Four generations. My cousin Kim and I are the only ones who have pictures like that, as Great Grandma passed away long before my youngest cousins were born.

This June I took some pictures of my cousin who just graduated high school. She was in a rush and I made her get dressed up because I would miss her grad. We took the pictures in under 20 minutes. I hope you enjoy my beautiful cousin.

I'm working on it....

I am working on my blog trying to make my own layout for it. I just can't stay up late like I used too! Life here has been busy. Aside from a major computer crash at work the kids have reached the "I'm bored." stage of summer vacay. So Tuesday, to combat the "I bored" blues we made cards for the Prairie Fairies challenge this week. Number one son made his on his own, but got some help with the sentiment.(Sons are not allowed to touch my computer) Number Two Son coloured his own picture and made executive decisions on where to put what.
